The course is aimed at all workers undertaking construction work, including self-employed persons, labourers, apprentices, trades-persons, supervisors and project managers.

Students will learn the basic principles of health and safety in the construction industry as well as information about preventing workplace injury and illness, workplace injury management and workers compensation.

A reminder that WorkSafe Victoria does not recognise online training for the purpose of issuing a Construction Induction ‘white card’. To obtain a WorkSafe Victoria-issued card you must attend a course in person delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) authorised to deliver construction induction training in Victoria by WorkSafe.

Your training will focus on:

  • An explanation of work occupational health and safety requirements
  • Identification of construction hazards and control measures
  • Occupational health and safety (OHS) communication and reporting processes
  • OHS incident response procedures

WorkSafe requires a valid form of photo I.D. and AST will not be able to deliver training to any student who does not provide ID prior to the course commencing. The proof of Identity for the Construction Induction Card must be a photo ID.

I have recently completed my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care through AST under the guidance of Carley who has been absolutely incredible as a trainer. The online studies made it fit into my busy life schedule, anywhere. I would highly recommend AST to anyone looking to get into the Early Childhood Education field.

I wanted a change of careers and AST went above and beyond to find a course that suited my needs, the enrolment process was a breeze and I was supported through the process. Starting a course as an adult was very nerve racking, but the trainer I had ensured every single students needs were met and catered his teaching style to suit their needs, a very inclusive organisation and a very safe environment to be in.
